Cerium conversion coating and sol-gel coating for corrosion protection of the WE43 Mg alloy

چکیده

In this work, the electrochemical behavior and morphological characterization of a system consisting cerium conversion layer, hybrid sol-gel coating, two coatings applied sequentially (duplex) have been evaluated for corrosion protection WE43 Mg alloy. The different techniques showed that surface coverage by coating was improved previous application coating. fitting impedance diagrams with electrical equivalent circuits allowed to propose physical model evidencing its interaction porous oxide/hydroxide layer. Self-healing properties duplex were also disclosed.
